My child has difficulty saying some words. How do I know if they need help or is this just part of normal development?

All children make mistakes as they are learning to talk. Most children tend to make the same kind of mistakes and correct them at a similar age. However some children don't seem to be able to correct their mistakes, or make mistakes that don't follow a normal pattern of speech development. A Speech and Language therapist can assess your child's speech and let you know if their errors are normal for their age.
